A Scottish-style castle which once sheltered great freedom fighters but today this palace is fighting for its existence.
On the way to the Dak Bungalow from Patna Railway Station, you must have seen this castle in the middle of a pile of garbage on Fraser Road. Well, it wasn't always like this. This palace once sheltered many freedom fighters. But today it is fighting for its existence.
Rizwan Castle located in Patna, Bihar is a Scottish-style castle built by the legendary barrister Syed Hasan Imam in the 1920s.
Syed Hasan Imam was an Indian politician who served as the President of the Indian National Congress. He was the younger brother of freedom fighter, Sir Ali Imam
Rizwan Castle looks like a fort but it is not built on height nor has a ladder to climb. there is no dome to guard the fort nor a place for watchmen.
This is a palace that is built in gothic architecture, portico is built in the center, windows are of gothic style, the cross is also built above the windows.
It is said that there were fountains in the lawn but Now you can only find scattered garbage all over the premises, there is a pond at the front side of the castle due to no drainage of sewage water.
This place has been given to BMP to live and the rest of the premises functions as a garbage dump along with open-air urinals and a place for parking vehicles.
